Melasma Cream

Melasma cream is one way to treat the condition. Melasma cream usually contains hydroquinone which is the basis of this bleaching agent. Hydroquinone is currently an FDA approved over-the-counter drug. However, it can increase permanent de-pigmentation and photosynthesis, which can trigger melasma or closma. Hydroquinone is actually coming under new investigation, so it is not clear whether the drug will be available as a treatment. So far, it is usually available in over 2% over the counter lightening creams or as a strong prescription formula with 4% hydroquinone.

Melasma creams may also contain hydroquinone-related ingredients such as arbutin and kojic acid. These substances are increasingly being used because they are better tolerated than hydroquinone and fall into the popular melasma treatment. Arbutin Beruberi is extracted from the leaves of Uva Ursi. Ascorbic acid and its derivatives are found in vitamin C in citrus fruits. Kozic acid comes from carbohydrate solutions under the influence of some bacteria. Melasma cream can even be made from licorice extract to licorice extract.

Although these substances are soluble in water, they are not effective in small amounts; Thus, the deeper layers of skin in the basal membrane and melanocytes need to be used in their higher concentrations to reach the deeper layers of skin pigment cells. In addition, they may be unstable in some respects. A substance like arbutin can take longer than the amount of hydroquinone needed to be effective.

Natural based melasma cream alternatives

Many botanical based ingredients can be used in Melasma cream to reduce the discoloration of small skin, brighten the skin tone or get the skin tone out. A plant extract called Rumex asidantalis extract is also being tested to discover its effectiveness as a melanin synthesis inhibitor or tyrosinase inhibitor. It is hoped that this extraction eliminates unwanted reactions to hydroquinone.

There are many topical applications used as melasma creams like Dermology, Revital Skin Lightener and  Skin Brightener. Both dermatology and revital creams have improved levels of arbutin and gigahewa. Skinbright Melasma Cream is combined with high levels of mildly lightening agents such as arbutin and kojic acid. This melasma cream contains several moisturizing agents. In fact, the Skinbright brand boasts that this cream is all natural.

Melasma offers cream

A melasma cream should not contain mercury-like ingredients. However, naturally occurring substances such as alpha and beta arbutin, azylaic acid, gigaheite, glutathione, or cozic acid can be the least harmful, and at least if there is any damage to the skin. A melasma cream that contains moisturizers or exfoliating agents is also desirable.
